TESLA, Ex-MEGADETH Members To Perform At Benefit Concert
August 14, 2005Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-MEGADETH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES),Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH),Troy Luccketta (TESLA),David Ellefson (ex-MEGADETH),Jeff Keith (TESLA) and Frank Hannon (TESLA) are among the musicians that will lend their time and talent at a benefit concert on September 10 for Lissa Wales, an outstanding and devoted freelance drum photographer who lives in Arizona. For the past two years, Lissa has battled acute myelogenous leukemia and most recently went through a bone marrow transplant.
The show, which will take place at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, will find some of the finest drummers in the industry coming together for one very special night of entertainment to support Lissa as she continues her battle with leukemia.
With Troy Luccketta from TESLA taking the reigns and calling drummer friends of Lissa's, the lineup has become a diverse musical event. An eclectic group of drummers have committed to performing include Denny Seiwell (PAUL MCCARTNEY),Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS),Danny Seraphine (original drummer for CHICAGO),Billy Ashbaugh (N' SYNC),Carmine Appice (VANILLA FUDGE, ROD STEWART, OZZY OSBOURNE),DeGrasso, Dom Moio (CINCO DE MOIO),Ken Mary (HOUSE OF LORDS) and Dom Famularo (WORLD EDUCATOR).
Performing with and alongside these talented drummers will be Jerry Riopelle, Ronnie Montrose (with David Ellefson and Jimmy DeGrasso),Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon from TESLA (acoustic performance),CINCO DE MOIO (featuring Dom Moio),Brandon Reid Allen (nominated for Breakout Artist of the year at the 2005 Christian Music Awards),Glenn Hughes and SAVILE ROW (featuring Marc Bonilla and Troy Luccketta). Supporting several on the drummers will be the "house band," featuring Mic Mahan (PAT BENATAR) on bass, Dave Henzerling on guitar, Marc Bonilla on guitar and Ed Roth (Rob Halford) on keyboards.
For the past two years, Lissa Wales has battled acute myelogenous leukemia and most recently went through a bone marrow transplant. This debilitating illness has left Lissa with the inability to work and facing a growing mound of bills and expenses. With a recovery period that is expected to take up to a year, her friends and business associates have come together, along with the support of music lovers in Arizona, to help ease some of these costs.
